The Peruvian establishment (intensely helped by the sphere of influences of jailed former autocratic president Fujimori, his free-on-bail, presidential candidate daughter Keiko, their also-jailed mafiosi henchman and many others), tried to undermine the election results by commanding judges to be removed (or remove themselves) from the election comity.
